how do i hook up my z5500 to this soundcard? thanks for the help.

Yes there is. Your STX should have come with a toslink to optical mini adapter like this that goes up inside the s/pdif out.

Yeap, exactly right.  That's how I had my z5500 hooked up to the STX and just sold them recently .

Big waste of the STX.  The DAC in the Z-5500 is much lower quality then what is available on the STX.
