My X-Fi XtremeGamer finally died out (which i am secretly glad because of how it just wouldn't work with Windows 8.1 because of the ****ty drivers) and i am planning on getting the Xonar STX since i have heard a lot about it's quality and the fact that my onboard sound (Z68 intel board, can't recall the Realtek chip right now) is pretty horrible. My only worry is that it is a fairly old card but it seems the sound card market has been very dry for the past couple of years and i couldn't find any other card in it's range with the amount of praise the STX has.

So, according to you guys, is the card still worth it? Will it's age create a problem in Windows 8.1? Beta Drivers are there on the ASUS site but you never know....

EDIT: Googled for Driver issues and it seems the Drives are indeed buggy and that people use modded Unified drivers. So, that's a bit of a worry :frowning2:
