Anybody use this soundcard for headphone listening? It has a Burr Brown DAC, built-in headphone amp, analogue outputs and Nichicon gold capacitors.
 
Anybody tried connecting 600 ohms headphones directly to the headphone socket or do we need a headphone amp in between for best results?
 
Any advice appreciated.

I currently enjoying my D7000 connected to headphones out jack of STX. It's recommended to upgrade OPAMPs on it, read appropriate thread in Computer Audio section

The Asus Xonar Essence STX's headphone output can work with 600-Ohm headphones.
