Hi all, I own a Asus Xonar DX and I'm about to buy the Beyerdynamic DT770 PRO 80ohm, for what I've been reading the sound card supports them (otherwise correct me), but in the future I plan to get an Objective2 Head AMP (the desktop version, I don't intend it to be portable), will be a great improvement the Asus Xonar DX+O2 AMP while using the DT770? I mean, the difference will be noticeable or doesn't worth it? Any other options are welcome.

I'll use them mainly for gaming, like 70% gaming 30% music (rock, punk rock, some metal)

Thanks in advance!

My Xonar DX could drive the 80-Ohm DT770s, but using the O2 should help "enhance" the sound quality.

I wouldn't say it would significantly improve the quality. The DT770 80s are pretty easy to drive as far as Beyers go. I own a pair myself and the amp in my Xonar DG is overkill for them. The O2 wouldn't hurt but from what I've read you get a much better improvement from a new DAC with an amp.

That would be the other option (but also the most expensive one) sell the Asus Xonar DX and get an Objective2 with ODAC. Anyway, my main concern is solved. So in the future instead of going for an O2 AMP, I will go for an O2 AMP+ODAC and get rid of the DX. For the moment I'll get the DT770´s.

Thanks all!
