Astell&Kern SR25 MKII or Fiio M11 PLUS LTD

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to buy my first DAP and I need some advice. After looking at these more carefully I know the pros and cons more or less, but what I don't understand is the power output.

The Fiio says it has an amp and output of 558mw at 32 ohms, while the SR25 has 4.0 VRSM at 0 ohms. Is this a big power difference, as will both of them drive my ATH-R70x - Audio-Technica.

Also I see the DAC chip on both of them is different and was wondering if that would color the sound a certain way, because I have the Topping d30pro and that has the same chip as the SR25 and if the sound signature would be same then it would be redundant to get it.

Also if anyone can share their experiences with these 2 devices that would be great .

I was trying to discern the same! I have the Fiios X7mk2, the model is 7221.. I like it a lot and often use it. I have many A&K players from the 100, 120ii, AK70, Kann, Kann alfa, and the big cube. I really like the X7, which I purchased in 2017. Sound-wise, I was told the X7 is very close to the new M11Pus, the plus has less noise -hiss on start-ups. I would compare the sound to the 1000 dollars Kann, or close to it. I would say it comes really close to the KANN Alfa too. Moreover, on soundtracks, I actually like the Fiios X7 Mark2 better. In fairness, the Little AK70 also is a great sounding unit also. It's really hard to discern. With either one, you can't go wrong! I use Beyerdynamic headphones T-1-1gen, 2nd and 3gen; and t-5's 2nd and 3gen... I just purchased the DT-700 Pro-X, and the 900-prox open. Great cans for sure. I have the focal clear and the Elegia too. I collect cans and have the same ones you use. They are nice cans. It's a passion with me!
