I recently purchased an Astell & Kern SE200.

Obviously I want to load my music library onto to it, currently stored on an Apple MacBook Pro (2020 model).

However the cable Astell & Kern provided with the player won't connect with my Macbook, as the MacBook only has USB C ports. The Astell & Kern cable requires a USB B connection at the 'computer' end. I've tried adding a USB C to USB B connector between the MacBook and the A&K cable, but that doesn't work.

From looking online, I've seen suggestions that Astell & Kern players are somehow set up to only work with the company's own cables. Not sure if this true, or how they do it (in the software?), but it certainly seems to be happening for me. Any other manufacturer's cable won't 'recognise' the device.

However A&K don't appear to manufacture a USB C to USB C cable. I'm also struggling to find any way to contact them for help and advice.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can connect my AK SE200 to an Apple Macbook Pro 2020?

Otherwise I appear to have bought an expensive but useless brick!

I know that a significant amount of time has passed since the original post, but adding a comment here in the hopes that it can still help someone in need of a solution. I wound up purchasing this adapter from Amazon.com. I have not found an aftermarket cable that works. Good luck!
