Disabling the dsp on the zx1 and zx2 makes them able to drive efficient cans easily....eg around 30 ohms. They won't be able to drive hd800s.
Sorry about going off topic.

Yeah, but I mean, come on. The AKG's aren't that hard to drive. Again, a Clip+ can drive them (with the same rated power as the ZX1/2). I got the ZX1 for driving my UM Merlins, so I didn't care. But Q701 isn't that tall an ask for something dedicated to driving headphones. A lot of cell phones drive them just fine, too.

The AK300 drives them alright, though

Well, all I can say is the zx1 and 2 drive all my portables just fine and I listen loudly. I can't comment on your akg's as I haven't used them.
Maybe we should take this over to the zx2 thread if continuing.

Any other native English speakers try to order a song through Groovers+? I did, haha. Menu options are in English, but the checkout screens are not. Not sure that you can even place an order in the US, but I tried, just for the fun of it. Didn't make it through. Are we able to buy from the store here? Any info on where their music is sourced from? They have some different bit-depth/sample rate combos for some of the music I looked at, than what is available in the states. I suspect some of it is just reencoded, but I figured it would be worth it to download a couple and run them through the dynamic range analyzer, just for the fun of it, see if they might be different masters. But alas, I gave up, haha

There be a balanced 2.5mm output right next to the 3.5mm headphone jack on top of the player. I have cables to run balanced though haven't tried it 'yet'.

The 3.5mm is also an optical out. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-THINTOSMIN6-Toslink-Digital-Optical/dp/B00016W6Y6/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1466795154&sr=8-9&keywords=3.5mm+to+toslink+cable

Or just a 3.5 to toslink adapter.

I wonder if to use a quality optical cable will make a difference in terms of SQ.
Someone is offering this cable to connect the Ak300 with Mojo.

Do you think that the difference will worth the money?
Thanks again
