One thing I have noticed with my AK300: when the screen goes dark/locked, the volume wheel can and will still change the volume. Not sure if I am crazy about that. I always liked a lock screen that prevented unwanted changes in volume.

So, I left my AK300 sitting in the Tidal app when I was done listening (playback paused/stopped) and expected it to power itself off due to inactivity (like it always does when listening to local music) but found it completely drained this morning. Just an FYI that auto shutdown while in Tidal may not be working. Interested to see if anyone else can confirm this behavior.

Ye
Yepp.. Good sound is back.. But i still like the older firmware 1.10cn.. Miss its taller soundstage. This new firmware sounds alot better than the 1.12cn.. Im glad its fixed and will not do unnecessary updates in future.. lol.

Decided to update my AK300, it does sound different to my ears. Some of the warmth has been lifted leaning towards a slightly more vibrant open sounding presentation.

Precisely my impressions! The player sounds a bit more resolute.

oic , so its an improvement...

Depends I guess. Some people prefer that warm and musical sound. I don't really mind as the sound has not deviated too much. Still sounds great, as the AK300 should!

Leaner sound, more detailed. Less warmth and heft to the sound.

Yep, that's it.

It sounds less dull and more alive, a lift in the tonality around the mid-range especially which gives it more an effortless sound.

Also the soundstage has become very (note emphasis on very) wide with my 1Plus2.2.

Much more open to my ears. I quite like it a lot.

I decided to try my 1Plus2.2 balanced tonight from AK300. it sounded considerably worse than single ended imo. For some reason there was a large veil over the sound, it's rather disappointing. I'll be switching back to the regular 3.5mm cable.
