Anyone know if the European versions of this have the silly volume limit issue? @JasonNYC
No, no volume limiter in the players sold in the EU. Same players and output as sold in the rest of the world.Anyone know if the European versions of this have the silly volume limit issue? @JasonNYC

How long do you think it takes for the AK70 MK2 to 'run in' ?
Not much, I don't think. How do you like it compared to the Pioneer? I am curious to know. Thanks,
Daps do have an amp.DAPs aren’t headphone drivers. Why would you even think that they require time to ‘run in’?
Daps do have an amp.
So I just got my device & had a quick listen.
I am using Etymotic ER4 SR.....
The music is flat n dull.
I sure hope the sound comes alive & sparkles when or if the device 'runs in'.
First impression are not good at all.
How many hours does it need running in & does the sound bright up & get better?
I had the same experience. I had the Pioneer XDP100 and currently have the Onkyo DPX1. In comparison, the Onkyo is way more musical. However, the AK70ii has grown on me. The forward sound is great for vocals and it's clean.
It's the same. And my Westone W60 have been burned in (if they need burning).
Oh Dear.
I cannot return it either as I have opened it now. Not sure i can live with such a dull sound.
I prefer a bright sparkling sound.
What headphones or IEMs are you using. I find dynamic drivers (IEM) give more of a bright sound.
Did you read reviews? I believe no one ever said this product is musical or sparkling in sound. It's a flat sound - AK house sound from I understand. I bought mine just to see what the AK hype was about.
