Did anyone compare this one to the SE300 and Cayin N7?
I compared the se300 with the sp1000 extensively. The sp1k is still on a higher tier sound wise. It's smoother, everything is better separated, the stage is deeper and the layering is clearer and more complex. Also the timbre is more natural. What surprised me the most is the fact that the se300, even with NOS on, class A on and high gain, sounded sharper and more aggressive than the sp1k. The se300 has great soundstage width tho, very wide i would say but shallower.
The se300 is more fun sounding, more aggressive and very wide.
All comparisons were made using u12t, Aeon Noire and Fostex th610.

Does anyone know if you can adjust the line out voltage on the SP2000T? I've read on other threads where AK DAP owners have switched between two different line out voltages, but I do not see anything about that in the user manual for the SP2000T. If it is possible to reduce the line out voltage from 4V to something less I'd like to try it. Anyone know if that's possible?
Yes, it is under settings, Line Out. Voltage adjustment only works in op-amp mode.

Also, just a reminder when enabling line out mode. Turn on Line out, connect cable to unbalanced or balanced out, turn volume control until "Line Out" button appears on screen and press it to enable Line Out mode.

Using the EE Odin w/stock cable, I find that the SPK sounds better than does the 2000T. But with my EE Zeus and 1960 cable, the 2000T sounds better (with Hybrid or Tube turned on).

There are no absolutes.

The sp1k is less aggressive and smoother than the sp2kT, this could be the reason. I compared the sp1k to the se300 also and the se300 was still more aggressive and into my face, despite having r2r dac.

Depends on how you have the 2000T set. And, again, the Odin and the Zeus produce very different sound sigs.
Both iems are quite aggressive in tuning but the Odin has smoother trebles, being bumped mainly in the 2k area, so it has bit less problematic tuning. Zeus actually measures like crap tbh. No source can fix that, even Accuphase which costs 40k bucks.
The tuning of iem/headphone plays the main role. Sources are marginal. Sure, tubes can slightly smoothen out the sharpness of the trebles but they will not change the main characteristics of the transducer.

Zeus is a wonderful IEM unless you really want a lot of bass. For those of us who don't, it's superb. Better than mu UERM by a considerable margin. Your saying "Zeus actually measures like crap tbh. No source can fix that, even Accuphase which costs 40k bucks" just leaves me thinking you and I are hearing entirely different things.

In my dictionary, the WONDERFUL iems are the Monarch Mk2 or the u12t for example but if you like the Zeus, than enjoy it. And i didnt mean the bass response as its a personal choice but the midrange and the trebles are wonky to me.
Anyways, im enjoying the sp1k with the u12t and the Monarch 2 and i still think that the sp1k is a very competent TOTL dap sound wise, even after a couple years. And its soft works like a charm.

@JasonNYC I saw your post on the CA1000T thread about Crimson UI; do you know if there are any plans for Crimson UI to come to SP2000T? Cheers

At the moment, no definite plans to bring the new Crimson UI to the SP2000T. If I get additional information information, I will share.

I've had my SP2000T for a few weeks now and I've been using it exclusively with tracks on the MicroSD card. I thought I'd give Tidal a try and whilst the downloaded version seems to work ok, the embedded version produces an error "Authentication failed net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" followed by "An error occurred to log in. Please try again later."

I'm on the latest firmware and can't see a way of updating the embedded version or even a way of signing out of it to try logging in to Tidal again. Have I missed something plainly obvious? Any help much appreciated!

Has anyone experienced the issue of the embedded Tidal app throwing the authentication error mentioned in my previous post? I factory reset the unit and the same issue arose, the app doesn't even start, it just goes straight to the error.

Am I even missing anything using the downloaded version compared to the embedded version? I read of authentication issues with Tidal and A&K DAPs but this model was not mentioned having been affected.

The short answer is “no,” as (imho) you are not missing anything. For whatever reason the pre-loaded version of Tidal never worked properly for me, but the apk version that you download works fine. The latest build number is 2.86.0. Just stick with that and don’t over think it.

Periodically go into the download tab in the services setting to see if there are any firmware updates to download. There will be a little green dot by the app name if there is. The SP2000T does not provide you with any type of notification of firmware updates for any of the services apps you have installed. I have Tidal, Qobuz, Apple Music, and Spotify all downloaded to my DAP and they all work this way.

Cheers for that, I'll just stick with the downloaded apk then. Yep, I've been running the latest Tidal and firmware since purchasing the device too.
