I have received a used Technics SL1200 MK2. It lacks the dustcover, cartridge, headshell, and rubber mat, but I have since ordered these items.
The turntable is definitely showing signs of wear, and I suspect some things need to be replaced. Therefore, I would like to utilize the experience of forum members to determine the condition of its various parts (I personally have no idea how to assess such things).
I have read bits and pieces from other threads on certain things to take note of, but I will surely miss something consequential with this method.
In addition, if the solution to fixing a problem associated with a part is other than simply purchasing a replacement of that part, guidance on how to remedy it is welcome (which could be as simple as "google it, there are plenty of tutorials").
