I would to further explore the option of myself assembling a complete DAC, using boards available from eBay or directly from the vendors.

The two main options I will start with have already been discussed or analyzed on the this forum some time ago: one based on the F-1 XU208 DSD board and the other based on the DIYhink DSD board.

My intention is to assemble a complete DAC, so I need some sort of source selecting between DSD board, coaxial and optical, and analog out, of course.

There might be other more recent DSD board options that I don't know of, so suggestions are welcome.

Very low noise external supply is obligatory, and power should all be linear, with no DC-DC conversion anywhere.

If there are commercial products available that could be bought in that price range, which I estimate around $400-500, I would like to know.

Thanks!

Unless I'm missing something, both of those links are the USB input to a DAC. They are both intended to convert DSD over USB to a DAC input. You still need a board that has an actual DSD DAC chip on it, not to mention all the other stuff (power supply, buffer, etc.).

Not to worry too much, but this is the wrong place to post something like this anyway. You should ask this question in the DIY section of this forum.
