Hi guys,

I have Asgard 3 amp. Looking for a DAC.

I'm considering:
Schiit Modi+ (200€)
Topping E30 (120€)
iFi audio ZEN DAC V2 (200€)

Can you help me with my decision?
Should I consider something else?

Many thanks in advance!

The Topping E30 is a really nice DAC, and even better if you get a Samsung ETA0U60JBE phone charger or a real Apple charger (fakes abound on the used market) to provide clean power. It's got filter choices and I've had the Modi+ and couldn't tell the difference between them side by side. The S.M.S.L SU-1 DAC is terrific too, and if you have a black Asgard 3 would match well. I wouldn't spend more than $100 US on a single ended DAC, the JDS Atom DAC+ is really nice, so many to pick from with excellent performance.

If you're going with the Asgard 3, you can also consider an add-on card for it. Their 9028 is $100 while the Multibit is $200. There's some debate over the voltage drop, but I wouldn't have a problem cranking the volume pot a bit. If you want/can spend a little more, I highly recommend the Modius ($229). Super clean and lets the amp and headphones shine. It's what I use for headphones after relegating the Modi Multibit to speaker duty.

Agreed. Thus far there are no bad options in this thread!
