This is one of few excellent articles I found on internet, so I'd like to see some discussions. This subforum is the most relevant so I post here.

My take is that people got a lot smarter and they are more personal toward audio equipments; stuffs like Iriver's Astell&Kern brand products and a lot of recent high-end portables prove that there are still people wanting high quality music playback system.
Whether traditional hifi makers can grab and make a bridge between personal audio and hi-fi audio is completely different story though.
