I am on my 2nd pair of e2cs, my first pair developed a problem with the right earphone with what looked to be a problem at the plug. Now my replacement pair is doing the SAME THING, is this a common problem with these? I use these quite a bit but not in any sort of abusive way, is there a way I can prevent this

IMHO the cable is one of the weaknesses of the e2c. Mine was starting to crack and literally crumble. The rubber dries out and looses elasticity. But thats after ~1 year of heavy use.

Yup, same thing happened 2 mine..
No problems with e5c (other than the memory wire) or UM2 tho
