Are the grado pads listed on the site the flat pads that everyone talks about or are they generic?

The flats are definitely worth the price, BUT, they may ot be everyone's cup of tea (For instance John Grado). A simple way to check if you would benefit from the flat pads, would be to listen without the pads or by reversing the pads. If you find you like the sound better in this state, you will certainly benefit from flat pads. If not the chances you will really like the flats are lower. While the bowls have very pronounced highs and lows, the soundstage is much larger. The flats tend to make the soundstage much smaller probably going from a Shea Stadium size to Madison Square Garden.
