Are there Silver SR325i's

My guess is that they simply ran out of thinner diameter shrink wrap type material they used (temporarily) and went thicker for a batch or so.

That's my thought as well. Also, I laid my phones down and tried to replicate your image that shows the headphones with the entire cable. I think the silver 325i cable may be shorter by about half a foot, though I'm not certain. At any rate, please don't mistake me for trying to make out the new 325is to be worse than the gold ones! They look wonderful.

They're probably the same as the goldies. The cable certainly feel substantial though. Oh well, let's wait for Grado to actually say something. They didn't say that much when the igrado appeared though did they?

Aah. But it turns out that there are small differences. The cable on the silver version is indeed thicker than the gold and one guy on the 325i Appreciation thread is hearing a difference. (Although it isn't exactly fair at the moment given that the gold pair are burned in)

Still, as long as it looks nice ........
