There's no way to remove the CD3000 cable without cutting the wire or desoldering it inside the earcup. If you're willing to do one of these options, you can put any kind of cable you want on it, just as you could with any other headphone around.

Sennheiser's cables plug in to the earcups, using little two pin plugs that are unique to Sennheiser.

By the way the CD3000 sounds extremelly good like that, please do not begin with that Sennheiser madness here, the CD3KLF will kidnap you later....
