I was looking at the Ultimate Ears web page yesterday and noticed that they recommend the 3 Studios for Jazz and the 5 Pros for Rock. I've got the 5 Pro's and listen mainly to Jazz (about 90 percent of my listening).

Did I make the wrong purchase? Are the 3 Studios really better for Jazz?

Just curious. If anyone knows for sure, please post your observations.

Thanks.

im not sure - perhaps the bass on the 5 pros is too much for jazz? i personally dont think the 5 pros have any weakness. theyre buttery smooth yet lightning guick - id say thats probably pretty good for jazz. you could always order a pair of studio 3s for and try them and return them if you really want to know that badly.

If the 3s are better for Jazz, I think that's in comparison to the other music you could play on them. I'm pretty sure the 5s are all around superior - you can check the specs on the UE site - and they just needed something to say about the 3s other than "well, they're less expensive than the 5s, you cheapskate"

are they really that good? i've only got he CX300's and the Mylar x3's. can anyone tell me how they compare.

i was also considering the Westone UM1, but after doing a bit of research, many comments were negative, and they said the UM 1's are bass shy. i love my bass.

i was thinking of the super fi 3's. can anyone give me info on the 3's, 5's or UM1's compared to my Mylar's?
