Hello everyone!
 
I've just introduced myself to the world of audio equipment, and I'm planning to purchase a new pair of headphones. I only have a budget of about 130 CAD, so I'd like to ask: are the Audio-Technica ATH AD900X worth 100 dollars? I really don't know much about this stuff, so any recommendations and advice are welcomed.
 
Also does anybody know if this seller is legit? The price seems a bit too low, but the seller has a very high reputation.

Used AD900x go for about $80+ on ebay - just do an advanced search and you'll see that figure on recently completed sales.
 
IMO, it's fairly priced for a used product - good quality sound that was going for about $250+ just 2 years ago. NCIX still sells them for CAD $490 and Amazon sells them for US$150.
 
There's about a few dozen headphones out there so I doubt if fakes are an issue. The AD900x is not very well known compared to the AKGs or the Beyerdynamics - both of which have asian knockoffs (Superlux and Takstar respectively).

I think the ATH-AD900X are well worth more then $100.
I actually own the the ATH-A900X (the closed version), I paid $256 for those, this was back when the headphones first came out.
I guess I paid a little too much for them back then.
I would think $150 is fair for the ATH-AD900X.
 
Guess the price is low because the eBay listing is an auction and there is still almost 8 hours left for bidding.
Expect the bids to get higher as the auction gets near the end.
 
Do not see anything in the listing that would lead me to believe the headphones are a fake.
The guys has over 500 in the feedback and it's 100% positive.
