So I have used my Denon AH-D7000 every single day for at least a few hours or more a day since a year after it first came out. I have been satisfied with my purchase ever since. I use it to listen to music, movies, and play video games. It has served me well and more.

Now it has started having some problems. The sounds coming from it are kind of dying. I've checked the headphone amp and its not that. I have concluded that my headphones are now finally starting to break down.

I'm not sure if I should just replace the cables to fix the problem or have it sent to wherever they still repair it. Anyone here can give me any advice on what to do?

When you say that the "sounds coming from it are kind of dying" can you elaborate on that more? Does it sound more like the connection is weaker? lower volume? etc... I have never personally had any headphones or iems die in a slow nature, usually one driver just gives out or something physical breaks. I don't know if this is a practical option, but having a qualified audio specialist take a listen, they might be able to direct you to what they think could be the culprit to your situation is.

It's more like one sound from one driver cuts out slowly then comes back then cuts out again. The volume on each side changes a little from the normal volume to low.

It's been happening intermittently and sometimes goes back to normal.

That is a little strange, them sounding like they're dying certainly makes more sense. It does sound like a connection issue of some sort, although I don't know if replacing the actual cable will fix this though as it seems more like some type of internal connection issue. I don't really know much of the engineering aspect or mechanical aspects of headphones or anything so I don't want to give you any misinformation, but I do think there is a connection issue potentially inside the headphones themselves. You might want to contact Denon and tell them your situation and go from there, they may have you send the heaphones in to get them diagnosed and hopefully give you a repair quote.
