I just picked up some beats studio pros.

I work at future shop so I got a really good deal.

Almost half off actually.

But, after my denons breaking 3 times under warranty, I decided to try and go with the beats.

I honestly think they're incredible.

My question is though, are beats still ill regarded on headfi?

It was an honest question.
Not intentionally trolling. Thanks.

its still ill regarded due to its price (and possible its image a little), but if you got them at a real good price (like 50+% discount) then its okay, we still would almost never recommend them though since there are many other headphones that do better in every aspect for a much more reasonable price.

real beats pro sound fantastic, but are overpriced.
there are so many fakes out there (i literally went through 4 fakes to get to 1 real pair), i am almost positive that many reviews of how bad they sound are of fake headphones.

the only beats model that sound truly bad are the solos (bassy mess)

for 50% off itts not a bad purchase. but its incredibly overpriced if you paid full.

as far as beats being ill-regarded on head-fi, yes, very much so.

Well thanks.

Was more curious to know how headfi thought of them since I used to use this forum a lot and back then, it was when beats just came out. And the audiophile community hated them.

Was simply interested to see if it was still hated amongst audiophiles.

I consider myself a sound lover but in no way am I an expert at audio

Well, it's fine if you come with a different point of view. Genuine experiences are always more interesting than "rumors".
Also people should be less shy, if their point of view doesn't match "general consensus" (as long s it's a genuine experience).

If you like them, then more power to you! It doesn't matter how much we hate Beats, (Oh, we do) what matters is that you love their sound and you got them for a great discount. Enjoy them!
