Ok this has been bugging me for a little while...

On the Archos website, if you look at the Gmini 400 and then accessories and look at the in-line remote and FM receiver. It says it has a system called retro-recording which allows you to record a song from FM radio that has already started and go back in time and record the beginning.

What the hell?

I can only assume this is like a buffer which allows you to go back in time like 10 seconds or something only because that info is still in the buffer. I duno. But can sum1 please clarify this? Hope it doesnt mess with battery.

Cheers

If I remember right, it's like the Neuros in that it retains the last 30 seconds or so in the memory buffer and constantly streams it to keep up. If you hit record, it puts the information into a recorded file on the harddrive and then continues to write directly from that point on.

Affect on battery life.....I don't know, but the 220 reportedly has short battery life as it is.
