Apologies, with some of the posts here it can be hard to tell who is being serious.

I blame all the previous encounters with people who made the best jokes while being dead serious. once you've offended a few by "also" replying humorously, you tend to widen the range of ludicrous stuff you expect to be said seriously.

and of course sometimes we're just dense ^_^.
