Arcam FMJ CD-23 vs Rega jupiter. Any thoughts?

These two players sound so drastically different that there is no better...only what you prefer. I have heard both extensively and well, my source choice for under $2k ended up being the CD23T, and has remained so for the past 6-8 months or so.

(I can't help but feel frustrated everytime I see a picture of a Jupiter 2k nowdays...really wished that player had worked out for me, because it looks so damn cool.)

The Jupiter is not a very detail oriented player. If you like hearing all those little details in your music, forget Rega. If you enjoy "zoning out" to your music and just letting the music wash over you, the Jupiter would be worth considering. On the flip side, if you do enjoy hearing all the little details in your music, the Arcam CD23T is right up your alley.

Another player worth considering is the Sony XA777ES while you're at it. I ended up deciding on the CD23T over it based on research, but YMMV.
