Has anyone used headphones with this preamplifier? The brochure says:

"The c30 also incorporates a separate high quality headphones output that is driven by a separate headphones amplifier section."

Is it comparable to a decent headphone amp? The specs promise:
maximum output level into 600Ω 5v
ouput impedance 4.7Ω

I can't speak for the particular preamp you have. I have an Arcam integrated Alpha 10, one of the older units. The headphone jack is not bad, but I took a very big step up with the Corda Prehead I, granted, one of the best solid state headphone amps available. Look at the thread listed below (also seen quoted in these pages before) and perhaps contact John Dawson, from Arcam, for your answer. The older integrated amps used to just have resistors to take down the output from the speaker outs, from what I understand.

I'm curious to know if the A32 (which I have) has the same headphone circuit as the new pre-amp.

I posted on the avforums site, but didn't get a response. It seems that John Dawson isn't posting there much anymore.
