I want to upgrade my headphones (I have an old set of Fostex T20s). I am torn between getting a larger home set and something I can use traveling, but I only want to invest in one set for now.

How do the Senn HD580 and Ety ER6 compare sound-wise? I.e. for me, the Ety will be the more flexible choice, but are the Senns enough better sounding that I should stick to them in home where I will use them most?

My main concern with the Etys is the lack of bass I read about, are the ER6i's much better in this regard?

Finally, I'm guessing either of these will blow my T20s out of the water, correct me if I'm wrong.

TIA, great forum btw.

I don't have the 580, but I do have the 650 and had the er-6. I'd go for the senn I don't really think the er-6 was that good, honestly. Okay for portable, horrible for critical use. If you don't need the isolation, I'd get a cheap pair of ksc-75 or something + the HD580. Can't go wrong there.
