Yes this is not a joke or a topic which is meant to roast Apple.
My ie800s are 4 years old, and i have been using iPhone 7 for a year now.
Some issues which I've encountered when using the adapter are: random clipping, songs play at maximum volume when just plugged in(even when I did use volume limit), popping when switching from calls to music.
So a few days ago the adapter started to malfunction and my ie800 produced sounds like 'pop' or 'thud' while playing music. Before I know it, the loud pop/thud sound blew the right driver of my ie800. Now it right driver sounds extremely soft and thin and airy.
Of course, I thought it was a cable issue so I've tried twisting and bending the cable to diagnose the issue, but the problem persisted. Tried plugging the earphones into my ipod nano and the issue with the right driver persist.
I have scheduled an appointment with an Apple genius next week and let you guys know how it goes. Not sure if Apple will even offer to replace my ie800.
