G'day all,

I recently won an auction on eBay, but in a moment of utter carelessness, failed to properly read the auction conditions, which mentioned NO PAYPAL. I think you all can see where this is heading...

Is there a German Head-Fier out there who could help me settle a Bank Transfer to the gentleman who's auction I won?

I will transfer you the $$$ via PayPal (~20Euros after we confirm shipping), with 4% added to cover your PayPal fees, and you will then transfer money directly to this gentleman's bank account from yours.

If there's anyone out there who can help me, please send me a PM.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Couldn't you just mail an international money order from the post office?

I hate to say it, but I think most people would find the bank transfer thing a bit uncomfortable. If I was in Germany, I'd be willing to help, but any other way than involving my bank account.

And incur $30 worth of fees for a $20 transaction?

And it's transferring money OUT of your bank account, money that you will already have since I would've sent it to you. Do you know how a bank transfer works?

It's certainly a LOT more safe than a credit card transaction over the internet, which obviously many people are happy to do.

They are unfortunately pretty high. I checked and it was the equivalent of 15euros for a 20euro transfer.

Go to the post office, tell them you want an international money order.
It costs $0.69 or something equally insignificant, thats all. Then mail it.

Since we're only talking about a $20 transaction, I'd wrap a $20 bill in tin foil and send it regular mail, in a birthday card or something.

Ah right, for just €20 that is quite high. I missed that price in the first post.

Actually it wasn't a tube - it was a record.
