does anyone know what default device i pick when installing this. I run my pc through HDMI to a dennon amp

in windows sound the dennon is noted as my default device - do i install APO to that as thats what i use to send audio to my amp. I want to plug headphones in my amp

i cant seem to get this to work. i get the Hesuvi menu on my pc but changing the various sound options has no bearing on the sound i hear from my headphones. Its the same. If i run the test tones through my speakers it does send the sound to the correct speakers. The set up states i should set up the default device as a 7.1 output which makes no sense as other software sound cards require the output device to be in stereo

I would recommend trying some other renderers. Waves NX, https://www.waves.com/nx/mac-windows-app

You said you tried OOYH but had latency issues? were you using the gaming presets 1 week trial? I dont play competitive games but I never noticed any latency using even the prir presets with movies or games. Id imagine your hardware is quick enough as I'm using a 4770k.

I think this is the download if you have a creative device but hey maybe it lets you use sbx surround for free, been a while since i tried those, with OOYH being insanely superior xD

Theres also https://www.redscapeaudio.com which is similar in price to ooyh, uses modeled hrtf and has a head tracker unit, fairly similar to waves.

*broken record* It's also recommended to equalize your headphones to have a generally flat uncompensated response when using hrtf convolution binaural rendering.
