I am really looking forward to sharing this with the folks at the Phoenix HeadFi meet.
Originally, I was planning on driving my Benz to Phoenix, but I think I'm going to need to take my truck instead. I doubt that huge Pelican case is going to fit into the trunk of a C-Class.

The Apex Pinnacle was a big hit at the Phoenix HeadFi meet! It was paired with some of the best headphones available - Audeze LCD-3 and LCD-4, Sennheiser HD-800, Focal Utopia, ZMF Auteur, Abyss phi and more.

It certainly drew a crowd!

That Pinnacle 2 is on its way to Miami. I shipped it Friday afternoon.
I really enjoyed my brief time with that amplifier and it was a big hit at the Phoenix Head-Fi meet.

I'm so sad to see the beautiful Pinnacle2 go. I'm shipping the beauty off tomorrow. I'll post my impressions right here in a few hours.

Apex Pinnacle2....






Here are some quick thoughts on my time with the Pinnacle2. I'm hoping to have a review soon.

With Speakers
1) Perfect PRAT with my J2, Zu Omen combo. The music "feels" right.
2) Incredible sound stage with my Zu Omens.
3) The the Pinnacle2 is a superb preamp.

With headphones
1) Layering is some of the best that I've heard with the LCD-3.
2) Again excellent PRAT.
3) Visceral bass. Perfect match with the LCD-3. You realize the full potential of the Planar drivers in the LCD-3
4) Was a bit bright with certain headphones, In my setup. DACs maybe?

Use
1) The color coordinated function lights are a very welcome touch. You always know what mode you are in by a glance at the Pinnacle2.
2) Very well done function knobs.
3) Volume control is the best stepped attenuator that I've used. Very smooth and no clicking.

Tube rolling
1) I tried quite a few 6SN7 tubes and they each added their own flavor to the sound.
2) Tubes are very easy to insert and remove from the sockets.
