I don't really follow horse races, but that hole-shot he made in the final leg was pretty incredible.

Yes, and I love that the horse cost $9500...and dusted a field full of $1-2 million horses.

yeah I watched it and was inspired by that horse bolting through that opening ... and the backstory - a cheap horse(relatively) and the guy driving non-stop from New Mexico with a broken leg ... pretty nice ...

I didn't really understand why the trainer had to drive 21 hours to get there (with a broken leg nonetheless.) Could he not afford a flight or was it some sort of logistical thing that he managed to overcome at the last second?
