would an amp benefit mx500 or as cheap 'phones are they ok on just a ipod etc?

Thinking of getting a pa2v2

I am not an expert, but it probably would help. However, at this point, a better pair of 'phones would probably provide more improvement.

Don't waste the money on an amp for these. Here's another vote for either upgrading your ear buds if you desire better sound, or saving your money if you're happy

I got my pa2v2 about a week before my e3cs so I used it with my MX550. It makes a difference, but only in that you get a slightly bigger/fuller sound at lower volume.

I agree that its not worth buying an amp for these. I suspect you'd get better sound from unamped IEMs than amped MX500.

I would suggest trying to get a used paid of IEMs (e2, e3, super-fi3 or UM1) and a used pa2v2, Go Vibe or Cmoy. You could get both for under $150. There are some in the forums right now.
