Anyone tried AD797

Looks very good for single chip headamp.
-120db THD at 600 Ohm load, very impressive, even Ad8610 is only -104db.
and 50mA output really enough for any kind headphone without buffer.

I haven't seen any comparisons of the AD797 and AD8610, but the Emmeline HR-2 headphone amp uses the AD797. It's also one of the opamps recommended for one of Randy Sloan's headphone amps.

I think you are not comparing the same thing. The THD level is under the noise level in the audio banwidth. The AD8610 has more noise but in a headohone amp you won't hear it, not I at least!

Both amps are good but the AD8610 is made by a more modern techology.

I like the AD8610 very much. Look here
