So. . . does anyone use a portable CDP anymore?  I love the convenience of the iPod (and similar devices), but miss CDs.  Let me explain. . .

I listen to my iPod at work, and it sounds great.  But 6 months ago, I only used the iPod on travel or vacation.  The reason was that I had a pretty good portable CDP.  At work portability wasn't an issue.  I could select a few CDs each night for the next day.  Then while playing the CD, I'd read the liner notes.

With the iPod, I don't spend the night before "carefully" selecting the music for the next day, or reading the liner notes.  (In some ways, it's similar to why I like listening to vinyl.  I like the process of selecting the record, cleaning it off, reading the liner notes, etc.)

So, does anyone else share my thoughts -- or I am I just reminiscing?

It all comes down to deciding if I want to replace my CDP at work or not. . .

Have a good one!
