So I have a brand new pair of 600 ohm dt880's and I am trying to look how the cables are connected to the stock 1/8" mini but there is this annoying very hard plastic housing like cemented with the wiring and Im afraid to cut into it.

Has anyone reterminated 880's recently? and do you happen know which wire (and color) goes where?

I am trying to put a 4-pin XLR male on the end.....I'll snap some pics of it and post em in a bit....

HELP!

Yes you can reterminate that connection, however it will be hard to connect the ground to the two pins in needs to go to on the xlr connector (Ground from right and ground for left channels). Also, this will not really be balanced. Search for recabling of dt770 headphones, and you should find a guide for dual entry recables. Sorry to not be more helpful, but I'm super busy.
