Has anyone removed the metal grill that's between the drivers and your ears? Did it sound better or worse? Is it even possible without ruining the headphones? I haven't yet tried to open the headphones to take a look. Anyone know how to do that?

That grill is literally the casing of the driver... I've replaced the drivers on mine and have had them apart several times.

no, and even if you do succeed, you'll undoubtedly destroy the drivers (ever think why the grills are there? the drivers are very fragile.
