A friend of mine wants to start a podcast (primarily about idie rock and music related topics, I'm doing a hifi segment of course) with couple of his buddies, and I told him I would help.
He wants to use Skype, since not all of us are local, and record the conversation. Good idea, bad? Would be interested in any input.
Also, I have the cans, I'm looking for a good cheap mic. I don't feel like investing a lot in something we might only do a few times. Don't get me wrong, we all love music and it sounds like fun, but I'm not sure what his commitment will be in the long run. Know of one?

I know twit.tv uses skype and they are pretty big so that shouldn't be a problem. A cheap mic will work well as long as there isn't really any backround noise. A friend and I wanted to podcast but we never got around to it. I do not have any mic recommendations though since the mic I have was a gift. It looks cheap though but doesn't sound too bad.
