The cable on my HD-497 done broke a while ago (no sound out of left miniplug; right is fine. headphones are fine as I've tried switching the mini's), and I need a new one.

sennheiserusa.com seems to be the easiest place to get them, and it comes to $10.xx shipped, which is fine by me.

I'm going to assume they can be trusted, but does anyone know anything about their response time and so on?

Depending on how close you are to them, ten days or less to your door is the usual. They use UPS...

The same exact thing happened to my 497's today. Looking to get a replacement as well. There aren't any aftermarkets like the equinox's for the 497s right? I did a search and couldn't find any.

I ordered the yellow pads and a few accessories from them earlier this year. Everything arrived fairly quickly (about a week).

They did mess up and only ship 1 set of pads (I ordered 2, but they only charged me for 1). I called to re-order, and they sent me the other set for free

So yes, I'd say they can be trusted.
