luukas: I once had a similar problem fitting voltage dividers into a stereo rca cable - two standard resistors just wouldn't fit into one rca plug. The solution was simple, though: I just had to split up the divider over the plugs on both ends - with only one resistor per plug it was not much of a problem anymore...
