I just pulled out a DVP-NS999ES. Had not been used in 10 years. Everything works fine. Except two odd things. I am sure this is a setting and not damaged hardware.

The Three transport buttons work fine from the remote, CD plays fine. On the unit itself the Three transport buttons are unresponsive. So I figured I would reset it. However when I press the Menu button on the remote nothing happens. It is connected to Composite just so I can bring up the menu.

It could be hardware but rather unlikely to cause just this.

This has to be some setting(s). Anyone can help?

It is indeed a hardware issue. I thought otherwise but was wrong. I did not need this anyways.
