Just curious if any fellow audiophiles are using cassette tapes with high end gear?

Not high-end but... I've been trying. My last attempt at portable was a Jensen SCR-75. It had a line out, so I hoped to run it into my M-Audio Bass Traveler and get decent sound. But the line out sounded like the phone out, and it all sounded crap. Tried other NOS walkmans... but they age badly and I'm not willing to spend the time and money fixing one.

Settled on a Panasonic stereo with a cassette player built in now. I'll just listen to tapes at home.

My cassette tapes that are kept in a shoebox are warbled beyond listening comfort now.

Fortunately I ripped them using my old Technics dual tape deck many years ago. Some were already degraded at that point. These cassettes have never been released on CD or thru digital streams so I still keep them. I also keep a lead pencil ✏️ with them. 😉

If anyone can help me figure out to get Tidal tracks onto cassette tapes maybe that would be ideal. My first attempted went badly :frowning2:

I use a pair of Shure SE215 (wired) with a Sony sports walkman (I ordered a newer metallic model) and those are sweet. Wilco tape was fab!
