so basically i had a back up pair of jh16's and i have not wore them in a while. in one ear its a perfect fit, but the other ear it really hurts a small part of my inner ear when i remove them. to remedy the problem i kind of greased them so they would be easier to get in and out.

my question is, can i just sand down a portion of the ciem? i'm not sure what the audio shops do when a customer asks for a refit. is there somthing im not thinking of, or is this a bad idea?

I was thinking of doing it with mine but my ears settled into them after about 2 weeks - now plain sailing.

Perhaps use Emory paper? (black sandpaper)
