I've been interested in architecture since I was a child, but have never really taken the initiative to begin studying it. I was wondering if any informed people could recommend some required reading. I was looking at "A Pattern Language" today @ Boarder's and realized both how little I know about the subject and how much I want to know.
Books on my to buy list:
A Pattern Language
The Timeless Ways of Building
Minimum
Building: 3000 Years of Design Engineering and Construction
Modern House
The Garden Book
I am particularly interested in domestic architecture and believe I may be a minimalist.
(Any magazine/periodical recommendations would be cool too.)
