Anyone here heard of a band called The Soft Machine?

Sure I've heard of them, They were one of the original British psychedelic groups, along the line of Pink Floyd. To learn more about them go to < www.allmusic.com >.

Yeah, I've heard of them -- you might even call me a fan. Ditto to what august said, as I can't describe them nearly as well as allmusic can. But they're great, not for the weak of heart however. You definitely have to have a certain taste in music to appreciate the Softs like I do. And in addition to the Softs, one of the founding members, Robert Wyatt, has gone on to a fantastic solo career and is extremely interesting just by himself, so that is something to look into as well, if you're interested.
