can't believe nobody has mentioned his time with guns n roses.

GNR are my favorite band and i'm sooo glad he is not with them anymore....****in freak. His solo stuff is ok, if you're into that, but it wasn't right for GNR.

Also, I think ron thal sucks tho.

Ahh yes, the fact that bucket was in gnr is how I found out about him in the first place.

And with any luck, Buckethead will still be the lead guitarist on the album when it is released. If Axl let Ron re-record those parts, I'll be majorly pissed!

Ron Thal is probably the coolest axeman in existence. I easily prefer him over Buckethead... and just about everybody else I've heard.

I'm not trying to derail the thread or anything, and I do think that Buckethead is a wonderful guitar player... it's just that "Ron Thal sucks" is an absurd statement in any and every sense. I had to respond

both buckethead and mister bumblefoot are too virtuoso to play 2nd fiddle to Axl. it's like asking charlie parker to back tony bennett - no one's happy. bennett would be happier with pat metheny, and axl would be happier with, oh, jimmie vaughan or the like.
