She seems to be a Russian artist based in Japan..or at least she seems really popular there...

Her latest work seems to be a collaboration with Yoko Kanno for the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex soundtrack in the opening theme 'Inner Universe'. It sounded really good.

She also made a decent version of Poljuska Pole that's floating somewhere on various compilations.....

Anyway, I'm sort of looking for her stuff and I can't seem to find much...most of her own material seems to be a cross of Jpop and Russian music...

I found most of her info here:

http://www.r-s.co.jp/rso/origa/disco.html
[I ought to learn how to read Kanji]

none of her albums seem to be available on Amazon.ca...so..er...can anyone, if they've heard about her, or her music help me out on this?

thanks

When I first heard "inner universe" and "rise" I was more a classical music fan so I didn't care for jpop or most other styles of music for that matter, but I took a liking to it and quickly ran out and got the ost. It may sound silly but that album opened up a hold world of music for me, I now listen to bjork and other artist who really don't get the mainstream "spotlite" like the wave of crap that is played daily on the radio. Currnetly I am listening to some of origa other songs like "we can hear your pluse" and some tracks from the "era of queens" album and I will defintely slap down some bens to own them, that is when I finally get a job.

I highly recomend it.

Absolutely love the tunes Inner Universe and Rise, and was intriduced to them through GITS and GITS 2nd Gig. I found a Flac 2nd gig OST as a torrent, and absolutely love it. I'm gonna buy the OST to the 1st season, and 2nd season when I can get some spare cash.
I havent heard any of her other stuff, but have been meaning to. all in due time.
