My friend told me that an IE80 just cost EUR199 @ Amazon
below link:

ir
.

it is possible? it is original IE80 from Sennheiser?
as what i know an IE80 cost about EUR330 above @ authorized Sennheiser shop.
and why Amazon is selling @ EUR199, it is about EUR130 difference. OMG!!!!!!!

Yeah here's the thing about amazon. They are evil. The phenomenon you see here is called dumping. They basically set super super low prices, sometimes to the point where they are loosing money, so that everyone buys from them. I mean right now, of course I wont pay 70 extra € for the same thing. But here's the catch: when there is noone else but amazon they control the market. They control the prices. And than... Than you wont like it.

I just bought the IE80's and were myself stunned by the price difference. And even though I know that buying from amazon is supporting their evil theory, I'm not going to pay extra.

Now that sounds very fishy because amazon is a well known company. I've never had issues with them that they would not solve via customer support. One reason why I support them so and will always recommend them to family and friends. They take care of their customers and make the wrong, right :).

Like I said, they were happy to refund me and let me keep the fake pair, and sent a very apologetic email.

Something similar like that happened to me with ebay. But I didn't get a apology letter lol. My dad has that pair now though. Since I specified that the item be signed for and if not returned to me. Still got my money back though :). My dad likes them although I know they are not genuine. They sound decent but not exactly like IE80s.

Hello All. First post here, unfortunately to share my "fake" experience. Entirely my own fault. Purchased from eBay for the bargain price of £85, so yeah, I really should have known.

The silver lining is that I got a full refund via eBay, who intervened immediately I raised the concern, so at least that is something. I have a new legitimate pair now too, for £199 off of Amazon

I have looked at some other fakes posted here and elsewhere, and whilst my packaging was bad (see below) it did not have some of the telltale signs of other fakes. The fonts, type etc. on the packaging seemed much better than others I've seen. The spacing was good.

However, once the shrink wrap was off, I started to get worried as the finish was more obviously poor in places…

(apologies for the links, I can't post inline images as I am too new!)

But the first real confirmation came from looking at the storage case. It has all the usual problems with the logo, as well as the brushed effect being wrong which I've seen on all the other fakes on the internet so far...

And the logo being upside down and slightly squint wasn't a good sign either!

Hey! Where did my foam inlay go? :D

I didn't take any close ups of the earphones themselves before I repackaged and sent them back, but they did look very good for fakes. Much better than many others I've seen, especially the bass port and dial print, which looked quite genuine.

Here they are back in the packaging...

However, the real proof came when I stuck them in my ears. They sounded terrible. No trebble or midrange. Just booming bass, which did not adjust at all, no matter how they were tuned.

Anyhoo, hope these up to date pics of recent fakes from UK eBay may assist others. It is always worth reminding ourselves, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is... :D

Unless the seller can provide a receipt from an authorized dealer they are 99.9% fake....

They really need to change this threads name to "stop wasting your time buying from non-authorized dealers, appreciation thread" :p.

I saw one seller on ebay classifieds, selling IE8 and IE80s for around 110 Euros.
He says, they are from a liquidation and I can buy them in person.
After asking for a picture, he send me this one.
What do you think about it? // just noticed, that the picture was taken from here
http://www.mercadolivre.com.br/
considering, that he didn't send me original photos/ pictures taken from a site not located in Germany/
he is likely selling fakes :/

There are tons of fake ie80 being sold on chinese websites..like aliexpress.
I've bought one and the sound quality is MUCH worse than a stock ipod in ear phone.
