I have a Nintendo Gamecube and since it supports Dolby Pro Logic II, I'm interested in getting a receiver that uses it. I'd just like some recommendations on some decent, and decently priced receivers. I'm a high school student without a job so I can't spend tons of money.

There are lots of good budget receivers out there. Denon, Yamaha, Outlaw, Onkyo, Harmon Kardon, Marantz, Sony ES, Pioneer ES, B&K, and NAD are some good examples of budget surround sound receivers. But, since you are looking for strictly Dolby Pro Logic you could easily find deals on last years models, or even used. Good luck!

BTW, are receivers only capable of the original Pro Logic also compatible with Pro Logic II material? In other words, can Pro Logic II surround be downconverted to be playable with non-PL2 receivers?
