I currently use Firefox as my internet browser. I used Mozilla before the Firebird days. The only recurring problems I have had in quite a long time are with this site. Occasionally the graphics on this site just go nuts... The blue bar that tells time and post number will show the "Report This post" icon or something similar. The quote button becomes someones avatar. Etc...

Clearing the cache fixes the problem. I have had this problem on my 3 home computers and many different computers at work. All run Windows XP and I have had this problem with Firefox 1.0 and .9something.

Anyone else have this problem?

Sometimes I get people's avatars floating in space where they aren't supposed to go. It's more of a graphical glitch. Mine shows the avatars going horizontal and repeating and everybody's avatar is the same. WEIRD. I just close the browser and reopen.

Mine's good to go. What's your screen resolution currently set to?

My main computer runs dual LCDs each with 1280x1024 resolution. My HTPC runs 1152x864. My laptop and work computers run 1024x768. I don't think it is resolution dependent.

Next time it happens I will take a screenshot. Who knows when it will be though...

I've had the exact same problem. Many a time. And, as you, clearing cache fixes it.

I'm running Firefox 1.0, with the following extensions: Allow Right-Click, BugMeNot, Word Count, Foxy Tunes, Mouse Gestures, Image Zoom, Gmail Notifier, TinyURL, Spellbound, and ieView.

At home I use the Web Developer extension. I don't thing anything is installed at work.

Stephonovich, have you had this problem happen at other web sites or just Head-Fi?

Just Head-Fi. I go to other forums that use vBulletin (and phpBB), and none of 'em are affected.

Has anybody had a good look into the 'about:config' options of FF?

I've just been nosing around, and one that looks interesting is 'browser.turbo.enabled' that is defaulted (at least on my installation) as false... i've just set it to true... will see what happens
